The project
Faith and technology meet for an immersion in the Shroud
From 28 April to 5 May 2025, a large tensile structure will come to life in Piazza Castello, in the heart of Turin. The name chosen is “Avvolti” (Enveloped): an embrace, that of the cloth around the body of Jesus, and that which God reserves for every person.
The starting point for the event is avvolti.org, a mini-site that hosts a transposition of the live experience.

design
A coordinated image that balances tradition and innovation
“Avvolti – Shroud, hope, Jubilee” is the naming we created, and the starting point for the entire visual identity. The goal of the entire coordinated image: remain faithful to the Diocese’s communication style while embracing a modern aesthetic that resonates with younger audiences.
The color palette combines the ochre tones of the Shroud with a deep red, evoking passion and warmth. At the center of the logo is one of the most recognizable marks on the sacred face, representing suffering: a reversed 3, a trail of blood from a frontal vein wound. Surrounding it are concentric circles calling back to a touch screen, linking the digital to the spiritual.
In the key visual, these circles envelop the face of the Shroud, creating a striking, memorable image that leads the entire communication.
THE LIVE EXPERIENCE
A one-of-a-kind event in the heart of Turin
Avvolti’s core is the immersive environment inside the structure in Piazza Castello.
A space where visitors can truly step into the heart of the Shroud — seeing it, hearing it, and digitally “touching” it through an interactive table and an emotional video. The name, which in Italian means "Wrapped", evokes an embrace: that of the Cloth around the body of Jesus, and the one God extends to every person.
The interactive table
We recreated the Shroud at full scale on a 4.86 x 1.32 meters table and designed an immersive, engaging digital journey. With the guidance of expert hosts, visitors interact with 8 hotspots placed along the image of the Cloth, revealing all details (from body marks to linen damage) with accompanying Gospel verses that bring together historical insight and spiritual reflection.
To ensure full accessibility and inclusion, the space is designed for everyone. All content is available in Italian, English, and Spanish, with audio narration as well.
Triplesense Reply oversaw every aspect of this unprecedented technological journey: from the written content to the table graphics, and from the user experience to the development of all interactions.

THE MINI-WEBSITE
A dynamic platform open to the world
Avvolti.org is the platform that delves into every detail of the event, highlights its meaning, and invites visitors to book their experience. After May 5, it also becomes a place to relive the installation and explore the Shroud anytime, from anywhere.

The sections:
Homepage: a space to discover every detail about the event, dive into the experience, and access to bookings.
Highlights: a curated selection of content, including podcasts, exclusive materials and scheduled events.
The Shroud: a historical timeline exploring every stage the Cloth has gone through — from fires to the present day.
Digital experience: after May 5, this section allows online visitors to explore the physical installation digitally.
Results
The collaboration between Triplesense and the Diocese of Turin led to a project with national impact and international reach. Avvolti brought together generations and perspectives, showing that even an ancient relic like the Shroud can be the heart of a bold, contemporary experience.
The installation welcomed 32800 visitors in 8 days: an event that will remain etched in the memory of those who lived it, and in the history of Turin.
